MOFTherm project officially launched

The MOFTherm consortium held its kick-off meeting on 27 May 2026 via Microsoft Teams. The meeting brought together project partners to review the project objectives, work-package structure, partner roles and first implementation steps.
The project will develop sustainable PCM@MOF@C composites for passive battery thermal management, combining bio-derived phase-change materials, non-toxic zirconium-based MOFs and recycled or recyclable carbon materials.
During the meeting, partners discussed initial material-selection strategies, prototype validation requirements, life-cycle and techno-economic assessment, data management and dissemination activities. The first experimental work will focus on material screening, composite preparation and early validation of the PCM@MOF@C concept.
